Alan Shearer has criticised Manchester United’s wastefulness in the final third after they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
United were unable to repeat Tuesday’s 3-0 Carabao Cup win over the Eagles, falling flat to record a fourth league defeat of the season. Joachim Andersen put the away side ahead on 25 minutes, his half-volley deflecting off Diogo Dalot and past Andre Onana.
Despite Erik ten Hag’s side dominating possession, a host of poor final balls and wasteful finishes increased the frustration inside Old Trafford. Roy Hodgson’s side were resolute in defence but were never under a barrage of pressure.
