Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has named his starting XI to face Manchester United at Old Trafford this evening (8pm kick-off).
He has opted to make two changes from the side which faced Sheffield United last Friday as Leander Dendoncker and Diego Carlos both start. Pau Torres is named among the substitutes for tonight’s match after recovering from injury.
Villa are targeting their 13th league win of the season tonight against a United side who have lost four of their last seven home league games. Erik ten Hag’s side have also lost 13 matches in all competitions this season, their most defeats before Christmas since 1930.
Villa come into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Villa Park and have picked up seven points from their last nine available on the road. There are currently 11 points separating Villa and United before kick-off.
Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Ezri Konsa, Carlos, Clement Lenglet and Lucas Digne. Dendoncker will play alongside Douglas Luiz in midfield.
John McGinn will play from the right and Jacob Ramsey on the left as Ollie Watkins is supported by Leon Bailey in attack.
