West Ham are one of the top seven teams in the Premier League but have have been handed a rather disappointing world ranking.
West Ham are currently in the Premier League top seven. And the Hammers are also in the last eight of UEFA’s second tier competition.
That’s after being one of three clubs to win a European trophy last season. Off the pitch West Ham are in the top 18 richest clubs in world football too.
But despite West Ham’s progress and growth in recent seasons, it’s not really been reflected in a prestigious list.
Opta Power Rankings rate 13,000 domestic clubs worldwide
Opta are the world’s leading football data experts and analysts.
And they produce Power Rankings which are a global team ranking system assigning an ability score to over 13,000 domestic football teams on a scale between zero and 100.
Zero is the worst-ranked team in the world and 100 is the best team in the world.
Obviously West Ham fans love their team and we all think our team is the best.

West Ham ranked 33rd in the world
But the Opta Power Rankings are designed to finally settle debates between friends using highly detailed data analysis.
The world’s top 100 clubs are announced and West Ham get a disappointing rank.
Because West Ham sit 33rd on the list with a rating of 87.8.
David Moyes’ side are below the likes of Stuttgart, Bologna, Benfica, Atalana, Real Sociedad and PSV among those you would expect us to be above.
West Ham are also below teams they are currently ahead of in the Premier League too including Brighton, Newcastle and Chelsea.
Hammers below some teams they should be above
Man City, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Liverpool and PSG make up the top five.

Of the top 100, West Ham’s former Europa League foes Dinamo Zagreb sit 100th with Celtic in 99th place.
It is a movable feast, though. So the Hammers do have the chance to push their way up the table.
