West Ham would be crazy not to accept reported deadline day bid, despite £9 million loss

West Ham receive offer that totals £21m, Julen Lopetegui would be crazy not to sell on deadline day. Deadline day is finally here, and West Ham United are expected to be very active indeed in the transfer market.

Julen Lopetegui still has a lot of work to do on deadline day, if he is to exit the window with the ideal squad at his disposal. So, after what feels like an age, transfer deadline day is finally upon us, and West Ham have one final shot as turning a 9/10 window into the perfect 10.

Lopetegui has worked wonders at the London Stadium this summer, but the West Ham head coach needs to make at least one more top quality signing, if he is to guide us to success on all fronts this season. The Hammers fans are buzzing with excitement about what the future holds for us, and Lopetegui has insisted that he’s after even more new signings.

However, the Spaniard will have to get rid of some of the fringe players first, before he can even think about making any new signings. And it seems like he now has a fantastic opportunity to do just that…

West Ham receive deadline day offer that totals £21m

It seemingly could be an incredibly busy day at the London Stadium. Not only are we bing linked with late moves for some very exciting players, but numerous Hammers are being touted for the exit door as well. One of those players is Nayef Aguerd, and it seems like we’ve finally received a solid proposal for him.

Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna has claimed that Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad have made an official bid for Aguerd – one that will total £21 million.

The offer consists of a £3.5 million loan fee right now and a £17.5 million obligation to buy the Moroccan next summer. That’s an offer that we simply cannot reject as far as I’m concerned. Get Aguerd off the books now and make some space for new arrivals.

Signing Carlos Soler and perhaps another striker as well should be Lopetegui’s main goal today.

And the Spaniard will not be able to bring in any new players at all, if he fails to move on any of the deadwood first.

    Aguerd has to leave today

If West Ham are to have any chance of signing one or two top players, Aguerd has to leave the club today, it really is that simple. And judging by the latest claims, that’s exactly what could happen.

The sooner the 28-year-old moves on the better – he’s painfully ill-suited to Premier League football.

Aguerd has proven time and time again that he simply cannot hack the physicality of the English game.

Looking back on it, he was an incredibly poor signing by David Moyes, especially given the fact that he cost us £30 million. So the chance for West Ham to claw back more than two thirds of that fee on transfer deadline day is one that we cannot allow to slip by.
