West Ham United offer said to be in – Hammers launch attack, move on for late signing. West Ham United have made a late approach to sign Palmeiras’ Richard Ríos. That’s according to journalist Pipe Sierra, who claims West Ham have offered a fee around $22m [€19.7m].
The Hammers’ proposal has been rejected by the Brazilian club. At this moment in time, Sierra claims West Ham aren’t yet planning to return with an improved offer.
That’s perhaps because Palmeiras have no plans to negotiate a deal for the 24-year-old in this window. UOL also cover the Premier League side’s desire to secure the Colombia international’s services.
West Ham have ‘signalled interest’ and launched an attack to sign the midfielder. The Hammers have informed Palmeiras of their willingness to offer a fee between €22m and €25m.
Sierra indicates Julen Lopetegui’s side have made an offer of €19.7m, while UOL say they are willing to table a bid of around €22-25m. There’s a difference in valuation, but it won’t matter because Palmeiras have rejected their approach.
Ríos has a €100m release clause and UOL say the South American club will only negotiate his sale for this figure. It’s highly unlikely for any club to offer a fee close to his clause.
