West Ham United have made an offer to sign Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu ahead of Arsenal, according to AS Marca.
Writing on their official X account (22 May), the Turkish news outlet report that the Hammers have made an official bid worth £22m for the 24-year-old left-back this summer.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is said to be a “big fan” of the player and “would love to sign him” for the Gunners, but Tim Steidten has made the first move as Julen Lopetegui looks to bolster his squad ahead of his first campaign as manager.

Full-back is a position where the Hammers will be keen to strengthen this summer with Ben Johnson set to leave and Thilo Kehrer already moving on, but the left-side is a bit stronger.
Aaron Cresswell has agreed a new deal with the club and Emerson Palmieri is the first-choice option and has been performing well, but Kadioglu is a very good new signing who would raise the floor of the squad.
Described as a “future superstar” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the versatile defender has registered four assists in 34 appearances this season in a title-chasing team and would provide a great upgrade in the squad.

Lopetegui has a lot of work to do with the squad after taking over from David Moyes, with plenty of movement expected with both incoming and outgoings.
The club have begun making their moves nice and early this year too after leaving it late last year, so this is one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
