West Ham respond to claims deals are done for Aston Villa and Man United stars. West Ham have responded to claims that deals are done for Aston Villa and Man United stars Jhon Duran and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The club has provided some clarity in an exclusive with Hammers News. West Ham have been locked in talks with Aston Villa and Manchester United over the duo.
The Hammers have been involved in protracted negotiations over the signing of Aston Villa’s wantaway forward Jhon Duran. And it is a similar story when it comes to the negotiations with Man United for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Talks between West Ham and Villa were said to be off over the weekend after the club’s latest bid for Duran was rejected. Snd the striker finds himself in hot water with Aston Villa after doing West Ham’s crossed Hammers salute during a live social media video.
West Ham’s negotiations with Manchester United over Wan-Bissaka also hit a brick wall last week. Reports claim West Ham are closing on duo. Hammers technical director Tim Steidten then launched a cunning move for Red Devils target Noussair Mazraoui instead.
In a ploy that was clearly by design West Ham forced Man United to lower their Wan-Bissaka demands.
If French outlet Foot Mercato are to be believed it worked as Mazraoui is now on the verge of signing for Man United and Wan-Bissaka close to returning to London with the Hammers.
Reports claim only personal terms are left to be agreed between West Ham and the right-back after a deal was struck between the east Londoners and Manchester United.
Last night it was claimed there was a twist in the talks between West Ham and Villa for Duran.
Nigel Khan of the West Ham Irons YouTube channel claimed sources at the club had told him a deal has finally been agreed between the Hammers and Aston Villa for Colombian star Duran. Khan says the club and Villa have ‘seen sense’ and agreed a fee. But when it comes to the transfer window it’s difficult to know what to believe.
West Ham respond on deals for Aston Villa and Man United stars
Hammers News has spoken to the top contact inside West Ham about the moves for Duran and Wan-Bissaka.
And West Ham have responded to claims deals are done for the Aston Villa and Man United stars. There is some exciting news on one of them as well as an intriguing transfer update.
“We have irons in about six fires at the moment,” the West Ham spokesman exclusively told Hammers News.
“A deal for the full-back (Wan-Bissaka) is more likely than the centre-forward (Duran) at the moment.
“But never say never.” That’s hugely encouraging to hear regarding a deal with Man United over Wan-Bissaka.
Vladimir Coufal has been a great servant for West Ham. But Wan-Bissaka is an elite defensive full-back, which he has proved at Man United and Palace.
He has more pace and will be six years Coufal’s junior when the Hammers man turns 32 next month. West Ham’s response disproves the claim a deal has now been agreed with Aston Villa for exciting striker Duran.
But it does at least give hope that the deal is not dead – as has been reported elsewhere. It should be an interesting few days ahead after over three weeks without a signing.
