West Ham United transfer news as update emerges on Arsenal ace Emile Smith Rowe
West Ham are interested in signing Emile Smith Rowe on loan from Arsenal in the January transfer window, according to talkSPORT.
The broadcaster reported on its live transfer tracker on Friday (19 January) that the Hammers are open to signing the England international on a six-month loan deal at the London Stadium.
It added that the 23-year-old attacking midfielder doesn’t appear to be in Mikel Arteta’s plans this season despite Gunners fans questioning why he isn’t more involved at the Emirates Stadium.

Promising
This is yet another promising transfer development for West Ham after it has been revealed that the club are leading the race to sign Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City.
If the Hammers could get both of those players through the door this month, then that would dramatically improve the squad heading into the final few months of the campaign.
It would be a real sign of intent if Smith Rowe were to come through the door after he’s been regarded as a promising talent for a number of years at the Emirates.
But injuries have meant he’s featured just 12 times so far this season, with only two of those outings coming from the start as he’s struggled to force his way into Arteta’s plans.
The Englishman would undoubtedly add quality to the attacking midfield department as we look to compete for a European place again this season.
In other West Ham news, the club are eyeing a move for a player on £200,000 a week.
