West Ham now have David Moyes sack decision to make as BBC MOTD share post

Football is a funny old game, just ask any supporter of West Ham United this evening to confirm that old adage.

Just three days ago, there was an absolute buzz and feel-good feeling. The Hammers had come from behind to beat old rivals Tottenham 2-1 on their own patch and compound the misery on the out-of-form Lilywhites.

But on Sunday (10 December), that feeling had been completely undone by a truly woeful outing at Craven Cottage where Fulham ran roughshod over the Hammers in 5-0 victory.

It is this sort of inconsistency, the big highs followed by the crushing lows, that makes fan opinion on David Moyes so wildly divided.

In one camp, there are those – who probably wisely – point to the fact that actually West Ham have had some decent results this season and of course there was that memorable Europa Conference League triumph last season.

But in the other, there is the argument that with the talent now available in this Hammers side that they should be performing much more consistently, and troubling the higher positions in the table.

It is probably what prompted BBC Sport to post on X about Moyes and West Ham.

β€œIs the pressure beginning to grow on David Moyes?” The post asked, entirely fairly.

Three days. Just three days since that Spurs game and here we are asking if Moyes should be sacked. It is a question that would have sounded a bit daft then.

But following this abject misery against Fulham it is once again a question that holds plenty of credence. West Ham have a David Moyes sack decision on their hands once again.
