West Ham make £45m+ bid in ‘Massive Swoop’ for red-hot ace – report Bayer Leverkusen stance shared as West Ham United ready club-record transfer for Victor Boniface
West Ham are willing to break their transfer record to sign Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen, according to The Sun.
Alan Nixon reported for the online edition of the outlet on Saturday [20 January] that Tim Steidten is pushing for the “massive swoop”.
Newcastle United and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Boniface, who Leverkusen are prepared to sell for the right price.
West Ham’s current record upfront outlay on a single player is the £45million paid for Sebastian Haller in July 2019 [Sky Sports].

West Ham are in need of a goalscoring striker and Boniface certainly fits into that category, having netted 16 times in 22 matches this season.
Boniface has also chipped in with eight assists since arriving in Germany from Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer transfer window.
Despite only being a Leverkusen player for the past six months, the report suggests the Nigeria international is there for the taking.
The Irons have to be careful with their spending, but the latest accounts showed that they have a fair margin to play with.
Steidten has close ties with former club Bayer, which could well work in West Ham’s favour when looking to strike a deal.
If they can pull it off, an attack of Lucas Paqueta, Victor Boniface and Jarrod Bowen would be one of the best anywhere on the continent.
Now it is over to Steidten to try to get this transfer across the line.
