West Ham hopes fading fast on midfielder signing West Ham‘s hopes of signing Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe are fading fast.
The Hammers wanted the Gunners front man at the time they were negotiating the Declan Rice deal and at one stage wanted it included as part of the sale.
But Mikel Arteta made it clear he had no intention whatsoever of allowing the 23 year old to leave the club under any circumstances.
And with a contract that runs until 2026 nothing has changed with the player himself wanting to stay and fight for his place at the club.
It is understood that Smith-Rowe’s agents have held negotiations with the Irons which have led nowhere as far as the club is concerned.
Smith-Rowe has made just seven Premier League appearances for the Gooners this campaign along with two in the Champions League and 13 in all whilst last term he managed just 13 PL appearances and 14 in total.
The Hammers, see midfield and the front positions as the most important in this window but ares till to bring in any players.
