West Ham fans will love what Ollie Scarles and others did to David Moyes after Everton clash. West Ham fans will absolutely love what Ollie Scarles and others did to David Moyes after the final whistle at Everton. The big David Moyes reunion with West Ham ended in a dramatic late draw at Goodison Park.
The man who led the Hammers to their only major trophy of the last 45 years was taking on his old team for the first time since leaving at the end of last season.
Moyes had his critics at the back end of his time at West Ham. But he had plenty of admirers too.
Many of them in the team playing against his Everton side in the 1-1 draw on Saturday.
His first West Ham signing of his second spell in east London was Tomas Soucek. Moyes has always raved about Soucek, saying he was key to West Ham’s resurgence under him.
And the ever-reliable big Czech showed just why Moyes loved him so much with a superb finish to put the Hammers ahead.

Everton snatched a late equaliser to ensure it ended honours even. Some of the best moments of the game came off the pitch, though.
Before the game the Scot showed pure class.
The bait to have a pop at West Ham’s decision to let him go was dangled in front of the Everton boss. But he refused to take it with Moyes praising the Hammers and fans to high heaven.
During the game West Ham fans showed what they really thought of Moyes with a chant and he responded.
Players like Soucek, Jarrod Bowen – who was signed by Moyes in the same January window as the Czech in 2020 – spoke highly of the Toffees manager. One big criticism of Moyes during his time at West Ham was that he did not give proper chances to Academy stars.
The likes of Ollie Scarles and Divin Mubama were given games in a couple of European dead rubbers. But despite impressing, they were left frustrated by a lack of opportunities. So much so in Mubama’s case he ended up leaving the club for Man City of all clubs.
Moyes nevertheless was the manager who gave them their first taste of first team football.
Moyes gets the respect he deserves in West Ham reunion. And he clearly has the respect of everyone at the club. West Ham fans will love what Scarles and others did to Moyes after Everton clash.

Cameras have captured the moment Scarles, an unused substitute, sought Moyes out on the pitch after the final whistle to share a warm embrace.
Moyes and Scarles were then seen chatting for a few moments in lovely scenes.
Soucek, Bowen and Lucas Paqueta were all seen hugging Moyes too. It was really quite wonderful to see.
The images are set to be released by West Ham as part of behind the scenes footage to come soon.
Remember when there was all that bo**ocks Moyes had lost the dressing room? Looks like that might have been the usual crap from the usual suspects. Respect runs deep and true. Great to see! pic.twitter.com/F3kmja8P9T

Whatever your stance on Moyes nobody can deny the scale of the job he did in east London.
His impact is clearly appreciated by the players and the fans, though, on this evidence.
Even after the game, Moyes showed his class – saying he was happy to see Soucek scoring, even if it hurt his new team.
“Tomas Soucek is a really good goalscorer,” Moyes said after the match.
“We signed him as a goalscoring midfielder. He’s great in both boxes. He’s a top lad as well. “I’m pleased for him but not for us.”
