West Ham fans simply will not believe what Paqueta is reportedly trying to do right now

West Ham fans will not believe what Lucas Paqueta is reportedly trying to do right now. Lucas Paqueta has just thrown a really big spanner into the works for West Ham United boss Julen Lopetegui this summer.

West Ham star Lucas Paqueta has endured a really tough last 12 months or so, after it emerged last summer that he was being investigated for his role in potential betting breaches, but things have got even worse for him since then.

Just a couple of months ago, it was revealed that the Hammers ace was actually charged for the alleged offences. Hammers director of football Tim Steidten is believed to have flown out to Brazil recently, in order to get a feel for Paqueta’s current mindset.

Paqueta’s future remains very much up in the air right now, both at West Ham United and in the game in general.

Should he get found guilty of the charges being levelled against him, he reportedly could receive a lifetime ban.

That would obviously mean the end for his Hammers career. It would be a major blow for him personally, but would cause a significant problem for the club too.

However, it seems as though his London Stadium spell could be done anyway, regardless of the outcome of the betting probe. West Ham fans will not believe what Lucas Paqueta is trying to do

The Brazilian’s current situation is one that every single Hammers fan is keeping a really close eye on right now. The outcome of the betting investigation will have huge ramifications for West Ham.

We could end up finding ourselves in a situation whereby we have an £85 million asset that we can’t sell.

Paqueta must be hugely grateful for the way in which the club have stood shoulder to shoulder with him during this tough time.

However, his latest alleged actions will surely stun the Hammers fans. According to Rubro News TV journalist Julio Miguel Neto, Paqueta is now doing his level best to help facilitate a loan move to Flamengo for at least one season.

Neto said, “The midfielder continues to help and make an effort to secure a transfer for at least a year on loan to the Rio de Janeiro club.” The 26-year-old began his career with the Rio de Janeiro based club, so it’s not a huge surprise that he would want to return to his boyhood team.

However, considering the support the Hammers have given the Brazilian, I find it somewhat ungrateful of him to be pushing for a move away from the club.

West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta has received big support from Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui amidst the ongoing investigation into his potential involvement in the betting scam (WHUFC.com).

Trying to force a move away from the London Stadium is some way to return the favour, if the report is true of course. Only time will tell regarding that.
