The Hammers insider reports [24 January] that Steidten’s exit from the London Stadium is “all but agreed”, with his role in East London being stripped away by Kyle Macaulay’s appointment, which has cost between £1million and £1.5million. It is understood that while both Steidten brothers are leaving their posts at the London Stadium, Head of Technical Recruitment & Analysis, Maximilian Hahn, and Recruitment Analyst Dylan Curnell will stay.

With David Sullivan finally pulling the trigger on Steidten’s fate, it is no surprise to see his brother following him out of the exit doors, and supporters will be breathing a sigh of relief.
The German has caused an incredible amount of frustration during his time in East London, having fallen out with David Moyes before playing a key role in Julen Lopetegui’s sacking.

Graham Potter has now come into the club, hoping to lead the Hammers away from the Premier League relegation zone, and it seems like a good time as any to wipe the slate clean and start again.
Of course, Steidten’s failed transfers remain at the London Stadium, such as Luis Guilherme and Niclas Fullkrug, but he can no longer create tense situations with staff and supporters.
The former Brighton and Chelsea boss must work with what he has at his disposal, and while there is still time left in the winter transfer window, it is difficult to see many deals being done in East London.
