View: Steidten can pack his bags amid latest West Ham transfer development

Tim Steidten can pack his bags at West Ham amid Calvert-Lewin development. West Ham United are said to be chasing a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and if the deal materialises, Tim Steidten can pack his bags and head for the exit door.

Even prior to the injury of German striker Niclas Fullkrug, West Ham were in dire need of attacking reinforcements and in particular, a striker capable of scoring goals.

That blow just further amplified the need for a new frontman and Calvert-Lewin is the latest to be linked with a move to the London Stadium [Give Me Sport].

You don’t have to look much further than the attacking woes at Everton to form a reliable opinion that it would be yet another mistake by Steidten at West Ham.

West Ham must steer clear of Dominic Calvert-Lewin signing. The addition of a striker is an absolute necessity and there’s no hiding away from that, but it simply has to be the right one. Given his form, Calvert-Lewin is certainly not that man. He has notched on just two occasions for the Toffees this season and the fact they are seemingly willing to let him go speaks absolute volumes about the impact he has had.

Do the Hammers need another one-dimensional forward incapable of scoring goals? It begs the question.

Not only is he in horrid form and plagued with injuries, but his £100,000 a week wages [Capology] would likely have to be covered and it just wouldn’t represent good value whatsoever.

If Steidten greenlights the move, he can start to pack his bags with what has the potential to be another failed showcase of his recruitment at the Irons. West Ham simply must look elsewhere for a new arrival.

In other West Ham news, one Irons star was the focus of a new bid from a European club.
