David Sullivan could sack Tim Steidten as West Ham United suffer fresh transfer blow. Tim Steidten will be on thin ice with David Sullivan after West Ham United suffered yet another transfer blow, this time in their pursuit of Noussair Mazraoui.
Steidten’s first summer in charge of the transfer business at the London Stadium isn’t off to the smoothest of starts. There is of course plenty for the 45-year-old to brag about with three players having been brought in.
Maximillian Kilman was a top target for Julen Lopetegui while Luis Guilherme represents an exciting young talent arriving at West Ham.
As for Wes Foderingham, that was just smart squad business from the Hammers. However, while it would be easy for Steidten to point toward his successes thus far, it is incredibly difficult to ignore his failures in the current window.
Having seen a deal for Fabricio Bruno collapse while it looked to be on the brink of completion, it appears as though the same thing has happened once more, this time with Mazraoui.

In the end, it was Bruno who rejected a contract offer from the Hammers (via Venê Casagrande, 29 May).
And the circumstances around the Mazraoui deal collapsing appear to be all too familiar for Steidten.
As reported by Florian Plettenberg via X (26 July), despite an agreement between West Ham and Bayern Munich, an agreement could not be reached with Mazraoui’s agent.
The Hammers have now walked away from a deal, and Sullivan will be left wondering why Steidten has once again failed to get a transfer across the line.

One high-profile transfer collapsing is one thing, but two is when the issue starts to become a pattern. If Steidten lets Sullivan down once more, he could be in serious trouble at the London Stadium.
