Said Benrahma may now just be days away from a much-anticipated exit at West Ham United after a fresh new development.
Spanish news outlet Fichajes.net reported on 26 December that the Algerian international has demanded to leave the London Stadium in January amid transfer interest from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.
The Algerian winger has found himself out of the starting lineup this season as David Moyes opts for a forward line including Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus instead.
And now Fichajes report that the 26-year-old has “demanded to leave”, with West Ham “forced to sell” in the coming days.
Reputable French news outlet L’Equipe reported on 8 December that French Ligue 1 side Lyon want to sign him in January as they look to steer clear of the drop zone.
The Athletic also shared on 21 December that the forward may well be on his way out in January which certainly suggests that the 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup quarter-final could have been his last in a West Ham United shirt, given Moyes’ reluctance to start him all season.

While an injury could certainly open the door for him to make another impression, it already seems too late for him after his dreadful display last time out at Anfield.
It seems neither party can rely on each other any longer and it is why Benrahma has pretty much “demanded” to quit. With January now just days away, Benrahma needs only to count down until he’s out of East London for good.
