Fullkrug immense as teammate has stinker — West Ham player ratings v Bournemouth. West Ham drew 2-2 against Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, with Max Kilman struggling in defence.
London Stadium hosted Andoni Iraola’s team on 5 April at home, with the visitors taking the lead in the first half
Evanilson’s strike was checked for offside by VAR, but in the end, Kilman was ahead of the Brazilian striker in the build-up to the goal.
Niclas Fullkrug came to the rescue for the Hammers at around the hour mark, and Jarrod Bowen thought he’d scored the winner before Evanilson got his brace.
Here, West Ham Zone have given their players ratings for the fixture:
Kilman has stinker in West Ham v Bournemouth
Alphonse Areola – 4
Areola made a massive error that led to the game’s opening goal, but the French shot-stopper also made a few decent saves.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 7
Wan-Bissaka was arguably the best defender for the Hammers, being calm in possession and strong in his tackles.
Jean-Clair Todibo – 5
Todibo wasn’t at his best, as he constantly gave the ball away with his long ball attempts, but the French defender was defensively sound on most occasions.
Max Kilman – 3
Kilman had a tough time against Bournemouth’s attackers and played Evanilson on-side for the opening goal of the fixture. The Englishman also failed to clear the ball in the build-up to the Cherries’ equaliser.
Oliver Scarles – 4
Scarles was tidy in possession and managed to give the Irons some stability with the ball, but he was substituted after the break.
Edson Alvarez – 5
Alvarez showed his defensive capabilities for West Ham, winning most of his duels, but was sacrificed by Potter in the second half as the Hammers were trailing.
James Ward-Prowse – 7
Ward-Prowse showcased his quality from set pieces, and his cross led to Fullkrug’s equaliser for the Irons.
Tomas Soucek – 4
Soucek struggled to make much of an impact in the final third, but his defensive contributions in the first half were redeeming.
West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug
Fullkrug rescued Potter against Bournemouth
Lucas Paqueta – 7
Paqueta constantly gave the Bournemouth defence something to think about and finally came into his own in the second half after Potter’s substitutions.
Mohammed Kudus – 8
Kudus was ineffective in the opening 45 minutes but redeemed himself with an impressive display after the break, providing the assist for Bowen’s header.
Jarrad Bowen – 9
Bowen was another player who came into his own in the second half, and his runs were a constant threat for Iraola’s team, with the England international scoring the Irons’ second.
