View: £60m duo to be benched by Moyes – Predicted West Ham XI v Wolves

David Moyes could look to make some changes to his West Ham United starting lineup to face Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers earned a 1-1 draw against Tottenham last time out in a tightly-contested game, while Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw with relegation-battling Burnley in their last outing on Tuesday night.

Both teams are keen to push up the table with victory and after some relatively sluggish form in recent weeks, Moyes could look to freshen things up with his team.

In goal Lukasz Fabianski looks set to continue with Alphonse Areola recovering from a groin injury, while Vladimir Coufal and Emerson Palmieri have established themselves as the starting full-backs in the squad.

Kurt Zouma notched an important goal against Spurs and the skipper should keep his place in the team, while Dinos Mavropanos will feel he’s done enough to keep £30m man Nayef Aguerd on the bench once again.

West Ham need Edson Alvarez back in midfield

The Hammers splashed the cash in the summer to replace Declan Rice in midfield, and there have been no better performers in that role than Mexico international Edson Alvarez.

The ex-Ajax man has missed the last two games through suspension after picking up 10 yellow cards, and fellow summer arrival James Ward-Prowse has done little in these games to justify his place in the team meaning the £30m former Southampton skipper should find himself on the bench again.

Tomas Soucek’s energy and height should see him get the nod alongside Alvarez in a deeper role, with his quality at set-pieces likely to be a factor in the game.

The attack for the Hammers and Moyes essentially picks itself on current form too, which is always a good thing

Maxwel Cornet is back in contention while Danny Ings has looked better in recent outings, but the foursome of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Mohammed Kudus and Michail Antonio deserve to keep their places.
