Julen Lopetegui was left fuming after his West Ham side lost against Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday 25 September.
The Hammers have been knocked out of the cup at the third round stage thanks to a 5-1 away defeat at Anfield.
Despite going 1-0 up through a Jarell Quansah own goal in the first half, a Diogo Jota double saw the Reds turn the result around.
Arne Slot bought Mohammed Salah off the bench and he scored to make it three for their hosts before Cody Gakpo grabbed a fourth and a fifth to put their name in the hat for the next round.
It was yet another disappointing night for the Irons and Lopetegui whose recent poor run of form has only been compounded by this result.

Lukasz Fabianski – 3
The 39-year-old just was not good enough and ultimately cost the Hammers a place in the fourth round. Fabianksi had to do better with Liverpool’s opener, losing out to Jota in the air, and will be disappointed not to have kept out the second. Not a night to remember for the Pole.
Vladimir Coufal – 4
There isn’t much to say about the Czechia international’s performance on the night with both Gakpo and Federico Chiesa causing him problems at different times.
Jean-Clair Todibo – 5
Another League Cup clash, another start for the summer signing and another average showing. There is plenty of hype surrounding Todibo but he is yet to show that, which is warranted in his limited appearances for the Hammers.
Max Kilman – 4
The 27-year-old was unfortunate for Liverpool’s second but will be frustrated that he couldn’t do more to stop Jota from doubling his tally. In a similar fashion to his centre back partner, nothing to write home about from Kilman. He just had to score midway through the second half but couldn’t sort his feet out.
Aaron Cresswell – 5
Cresswell looked positive with the ball at his feet, looking up and getting crosses into the box. They more often than not found their target, but going the other way it was a tough night up against Chiesa and then Salah.

Edson Alvarez – 2
The versatile midfielder had a part to play in the Irons’ goal but struggled at times to deal with the likes of Curtis Jones and Jota in the engine room. His night was summed up as he was sent off for a ridiculous challenge on Salah in the second half. After a shocker against Chelsea, he’s followed it up with a crazy moment to pick up a red card.
Tomas Soucek – 4
Soucek was hooked on 60 minutes and it’s hard to argue that it wasn’t deserved. Unlike the 29-year-old’s usual best, he failed to have much of an impact in either direction which led Lopetegui to swap him for Paqueta.
Carlos Soler – 5
Not much to speak of from the Spaniard’s first start for the Hammers. The PSG loanee failed to really get on the ball and make his presence felt against the Reds’ midfield. Soler kept things ticking on the break but wasn’t his sort of game for long stretches. His attempted effort to catch out Caoimhin Kelleher was clever but didn’t quite come off.
Crysencio Summerville – 6
In fairness to the 22-year-old, he looked positive going forward where a lot of his teammates looked timid. Summervile was always looking forward despite not being able to come away with a goal or an assist in the end.
Jarrod Bowen – 6
The England international looked positive on the break, particularly in the first half but the Hammers just couldn’t make the opportunities count. The skipper showed his quality on multiple occasions on a quiet night going forward for his side.
Danny Ings – 5
Ings was so unlucky not to have another goal to his name for the season as he was caught offside in the first half. There were some good moments for the Englishman but he did have a quiet night overall before being taken off.
