Tottenham set for Dele Alli transfer talks as former star nears £10m Everton pay-out
Tottenham transfer news – Tottenham are nearing a £10million pay-out for Dele Alli’s move to Everton, but those terms could soon be changed after an admission from Sean Dyche
Tottenham are set to hold new talks with Everton over the terms agreed on Dele Alli’s move to Merseyside, with a possible renegotiation on the cards. The attacking midfielder is nearing an appearance threshold that, once triggered, would see Spurs receive £10million.
It has come after a testing time for Alli in his career and personal life, following on from Mauricio Pochettino’s exit from Tottenham. The England international struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho before making an exit to Everton in January 2022 on an initial free transfer.
That move to Goodison Park offered a fresh start under Frank Lampard, but after just a handful of appearances, he was soon sent on loan to Besiktas. His spell there went far from perfect as he was soon dropped and then injury issues came up and put an end to his season.
Then, over the course of the summer, Alli sat down with Gary Neville to discuss some of the difficulties in his personal life that has impacted his career. From a tough childhood to addiction in later life, the 27-year-old showed exactly how much has been really going on.
He also revealed that Everton have been a huge help in his rehabilitation, both from addiction and from his injury. It remains to be seen when a return to football may be on the cards, or whether it will at all, but there will be many that will be supportive of him once.
Dele Alli’s heart-wrenching interview with Gary Neville has explained why the Everton midfielder’s performances have taken a dip in the Premier League over the last couple of years. From the outrageous goal against Crystal Palace to scoring against Sweden for England in the FIFA World Cup, the whole world was once talking about the boy from Milton Keynes.
The now 27-year-old is no longer on top of the world and has struggled to refind the form he once had at Tottenham. He was destined for greatness with most football fans hoping the ex-MK Dons academy product can find a club which can help him flourish once again.
