Tottenham is eager to extend a fresh deal to Harry Kane after his playing days.

Kane could earn as much as £400,000-a-week if he chooses to sign a new contract at Spurs rather than eye a departure.

Tottenham Hotspur will look at trying to tempt Harry Kane into staying with the offer of a post-playing career if he agrees to sign a new contract.

Kane has returned to pre-season training and held his first meeting with new head coach Ange Postecoglou on Wednesday, with Bayen Munich trying to sign him this summer.

It is understood that Kane went into his meeting with Postecoglou with an open mind and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has not given hope of eventually convincing the England captain to sign a new deal.

Kane could earn as much as £400,000-a-week by signing a new Spurs contract, although the 29-year-old has shown no inclination to this summer as yet.

As well as the financial reward, Spurs are thought to be willing to look at ways of keeping Kane at the club after his playing career finishes.

Tottenham’s London rivals West Ham United made Mark Noble the club’s sporting director, following his retirement, and that could be another avenue open to Kane.

Nothing has been discussed and Kane believes he could play on for another 10 years at the top level, but Tottenham want to do everything possible to try to keep the club’s record goal scorer.

Bayern believe Kane is open to a move to Germany and have not given up hope of signing him this summer or striking a pre-contract agreement with him in January.

Kane is building a new house on the Wentworth estate, which is just a 15-mile journey from Chelsea’s training ground, and his former manager Mauricio Pochettino has not ruled out a bid to sign him in the future.

That could include helping the striker start his coaching career, as Tottenham have done with former players Ryan Mason and Jermain Defoe, or take up a more ambassadorial role like ex-Spurs defender Ledley King.
