TIM SHERWOOD COMPLETELY CHANGES HIS MIND ABOUT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR’S PEDRO PORRO

When Pedro Porro made his Tottenham Hotspur debut in January, his biggest critic was a certain Tim Sherwood.

The former Tottenham manager let rip as the player, as the team suffered a humiliating loss at Leicester City under then-manager, Antonio Conte.

But fast forward to the present and Tim Sherwood has changed his mind on Pedro Porro and his performances, now under the stewardship of the thriving, Ange Postecoglou.

With Ange Postecoglou’s side sitting top of the Premier League table, Sherwood thinks that Pedro Porro has ‘done well’, even though he previously ‘wasn’t his number one fan’, as he told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (14/10/23 at 2:35 pm).

During the opening day of the new Premier League season, Ange Postecoglou started Emerson Royal.

But since then, he has returned to Pedro Porro, with Sherwood explaining why he has now completely changed his mind on the attack-minded right-back.

    Pedro Porro and Tim Sherwood

“Dare I say it, but Pedro Porro has done well,” said Sherwood.

“Do you know why I wasn’t his number one fan was because he was asked to play in a position as a right-back and just stay there and defend. It’s not what he is good at.

“He is good at going on the offensive. He gets forward. Gets there at the right time. Aggressive. Wins the ball back.”

    Pedro Porro showcasing his worth

There is nothing wrong with criticism, even if you disagree with it. But there is an element of stupidity when you go after a player after one game.

That was the case with Sherwood and Porro. The Spanish star wasn’t even allowed to breathe, yet he was verbally ripped apart.

And, surprise, surprise, once Porro has been able to settle in. He is starting to showcase his worth and prove why Spurs put big money on the table for his talents.
