This is how David Moyes leaves West Ham claims top reporter

This is how David Moyes leaves West Ham claims a reporter close to David Sullivan as pressure reaches breaking point.

If David Moyes or the West Ham owners were in any doubt about the strength of feeling among some fans it was put to bed at Forest.

They say when the hardcore away element turn on you it’s end of days stuff.

And Hammers fans unfurled banners aimed at Moyes and the owners following the latest defeat.

No wins in eight during a dismal 2024 so far has left Moyes fighting for his future.

Reports in the week claimed he has four games to earn a new deal.

But that now looks a more remote prospect with each passing week.

Many West Ham fans are urging majority owner David Sullivan to act.

The decision will not be solely down to him, though, it seems.

Because this is how Moyes leaves West Ham claims a reporter close to Sullivan.

Addressing how a decision will be made over the Scot’s future, board confidant Sean Whetstone revealed the process the Hammers would follow.

Whetstone – who also counts vice-chair Karren Brady among his contacts – says a vote will be taken before a decision is made on the manager’s future.

No vote for Moyes ally Brady says board source

The good news for those who are ‘Moyes Out’, though, is that the manager’s biggest ally – Brady – does not get a vote.

“The decision on whether to offer David Moyes a new contract before the end of the season will likely come down to a West Ham board vote,” Whetstone said.

“While Karren Brady is chief cheerleader for the 60-year-old Scotsman after the passing of David Gold last year she has no voting rights.

“Tripp Smith 8%, Terry Brown and Daniel Harris 1.1% do not hold enough voting shares to influence the decision so it comes down to David Sullivan, Daniel Kretinsky and Vanessa Gold to make the decision.

“Sullivan has 38.8% of the voting shares so he requires 11.3% more votes to make a majority of 50.1% to swing it his way. That could come from either Vanessa Gold and Dan Cunningham with 25.1% or Daniel Kretinsky with 27%.

“Vanessa Gold/ Dan Cunningham and Daniel Kretinsky could vote against David Sullivan as their combined votes account for 52.1% of the vote so could go against Sullivan if they so wished.

“David Gold was a big fan of David Moyes and pushed for him to be re-instated. But where Vanessa Gold or Dan Cunningham (Jacqueline’s widower) stands on the issue is unknown. Daniel Kretinsky will probably vote whichever way is best for his investment. Although his share voting is represented by his trusted business lieutenants who sit on the board on his behalf.”

The decision on whether to offer David Moyes a new contract before the end of the season will likely come down to a West Ham board vote.
