Fabrizio Romano says forward West Ham bid for has clinched £25.5m move elsewhere. West Ham United have enjoyed a very fruitful summer on the transfer front, with eight new signings over the line with just over two weeks to go. The Hammers hit the ground running as they wrapped up the signings of Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman early on in the window.
Then, early in August, West Ham got three more signings done, as Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez all arrived at the London Stadium. The Hammers have since signed two more players, landing Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo from under the noses of Juventus and signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United.

With just over a fortnight left until deadline day, it doesn’t look as though West Ham are done yet on the transfer front. However, there will invariably be those deals that slip through the net. Fabrizio Romano has now reported on one such target.
West Ham target Elye Wahi joins Marseille
The player in question is Elye Wahi, who reportedly received an offer from West Ham earlier this summer. According to French outlet RMC Sport, Wahi had offers from the Hammers and Leicester City, who had been following him closely.
However, Marseille always appeared to be in the driving seat for the 21-year-old, and now the move has been confirmed by the Ligue 1 club. Romano has reported that Wahi has swapped Lens for Marseille in a deal worth around £25.5million including add-ons, plus a 15 percent sell-on clause.

Elye Wahi has Thierry Henry seal of approval
Wahi would have been a good shout for a West Ham side intent on returning to European competition after missing out this season.
Although 12 goals in 37 appearances is not a massive amount, Wahi is still a top talent who has brilliant potential at the age of just 21.
Wahi has earned comparisons with the legendary Thierry Henry, as per FourFourTwo, and Henry himself has sung his praises.
The reported West Ham target impressed in a 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Champions League in October last year, and Henry loved what he saw.
