What Wolves midfielder Mario Lemina did after full-time whistle against West Ham. Wolves have lost their latest Premier League game against West Ham United to leave Gary O’Neil on the brink.
All eyes are now on the Wolves board, after Gary O’Neil oversaw a third straight defeat. In a game that was described as ‘El Sackico’, Wolves came up short at the London Stadium.
Wolves created chances against the Hammers, but yet more poor defending cost the team – and it will potentially now cost O’Neil his job.
Wolves went 1-0 down after shocking marking from a corner allowed Tomas Soucek to loop a header into the far corner. Wolves did then equalise through Matt Doherty, who converted a cross from Rayan Ait-Nouri. But Wolves then conceded just moments later.
Jarrod Bowen showed quick feet to make space away from Goncalo Guedes, before firing into the far corner.
Emotions spilled over at the end of the game when Mario Lemina was involved in a scuffle. Mario Lemina struggled against Everton last week, and found himself back in midfielder tonight against West Ham.
But it was a poor performance from the captain, who cut an extremely frustrated figure for a lot of the match. He also seemed very dejected at times.
Just after referee John Brooks blew the whistle for full-time, Lemina was at the centre of some unsavoury scenes.
Replays showed that he didn’t acknowledge Jarrod Bowen, with the pair then squaring up and pulling each other’s shirts.

Some replays showed Lemina also pushing away Wolves assistant coach Shaun Derry, as well as teammates Toti Gomes and Nelson Semedo.
But clearly, tensions were running extremely high with Wolves having just lost a must-win game.
His behaviour is already dividing opinion, with some feeling he’s overstepped the mark, and others of the opinion that Lemina is showing the fight that very few of his teammates have this season.
