Stuart Pearce has tipped Pep Guardiola to quit Manchester City within two or three years as he discussed the managerial market with David Moyes set to leave West Ham.
The former City and West Ham coach insisted that there are not many options available for clubs as things stand, suggesting the Hammers would only let Moyes go if they find a suitable replacement.
This comes alongside news that Xavi, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel will be leaving their jobs at Barcelona, Liverpool and Bayern Munich respectively this summer.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [29 April, 08:43], Pearces explained: “You don’t look around and think there’s a load of really good managers out there on the market that are waiting for jobs at the moment.
“It could be quite tight. If West Ham deems that they’ve got a better manager than David, then David is going to be on the market for the opportunity to work somewhere else. That will be interesting.
“I think at any time Pep [Guardiola] might turn round and say it’s been brilliant at City but his time’s up as well. If someone asked if I think he’ll still be in the job in two or three years, I’d say probably not.”

The discussion over Moyes’ future at the London Stadium has been raging throughout this season amid the various dips in form the Hammers have gone through, with this most recent one coming at a time when a decision will need to be made.
With just four wins across all competitions in 2024, the stability and consistency in results that Moyes once brought to the table now beginning to fade amid questions about whether the players are performing for the boss.
The likes of Julen Lopetegui and Ruben Amorim are among those who have been heavily linked with taking over from Moyes, dismissing Pearce’s claims that there is a lack of available bosses, but the fact remains a decision has not been made on the current boss.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, and David Sullivan meeting with potential replacements already, it feels like a case of simply waiting for the announcement to be made either by the club or Moyes himself.
As far as Guardiola’s future is concerned, it’s unlikely he sees himself rocking up at the London Stadium any more often than when City visit twice a season, but with plenty of high-profile managerial changes, he could be the next to go.
