Star makes U-turn and actually wants to stay at West Ham, Graham Potter thinks he’s a key player. One West Ham United player has just made a very big U-turn indeed it seems.
Graham Potter has some huge decisions to make at West Ham this summer. The Hammers have the oldest squad in the Premier League, and that has to change going forward.
It is claimed that Graham Potter is planning bring more dynamism and youth to West Ham in the summer transfer window.
There will be major changes at the London Stadium during the off-season, and boy do we need that. The squad Potter inherited is an extremely unbalanced one.
There may be some unexpected, high-profile exits. However, one man who was heavily tipped to leave West Ham could well end up staying now.
Emerson Palmieri makes U-turn and wants to stay at West Ham. Hammers left-back Emerson Palmieri seems to be set for a longer stay at the London Stadium. It was claimed before the start of last season that former Chelsea man Emerson Pamieri wanted out of West Ham.
Juve Live claimed back in January that Juventus wanted to sign the 30-year-old.
It has also been claimed that the West Ham board are desperate to sell Emerson this summer in order to raise some cash.
However, The Athletic are now suggesting that Potter views Emerson as a key player at West Ham. And the player himself is said to be very happy indeed at the London Stadium.
Emerson names the West Ham player he hated playing against
The Italian joined the Hammers from Chelsea back in the summer of 2022. It took him a while to settle down at West Ham, but he has been very good for us the whole over the past two years.
However, before he joined the Hammers, he really didn’t like coming up against one of our players.
He told the Iron Cast podcast how he hated playing against Jarrod Bowen:
“I played against Jarrod, I think, was the first time, I think. Oh my God. I say, Oh my God, this guy doesn’t stop, he doesn’t stop,” Emerson said.
“He doesn’t stop running, he will not stop running. Like I go forward, he always with me. And they always win West Ham, he covers the ball, He goes the other way. It’s not easy to try to findthe space,” Emerson added.
