Special Manchester City talent joining West Ham makes perfect sense for all parties if Lucas Paqueta moves to the Etihad
Manchester City talent joining West Ham United on a season-long loan in the summer would make perfect sense for all parties concerned, if Lucas Paqueta ends up moving to the Etihad.
The upcoming summer transfer window will be a vital one for West Ham manager David Moyes, and one of the best Manchester City young stars joining us could soften the blow of Lucas Paqueta leaving.
Sorry, We Need To Talk About The New England Kit
The Hammers are in a good place when it comes to meeting the new PSR guidelines, so we should expect plenty of incomings before the start of next season.
However, it’s looking very likely that we’ll lose one of our very best players this summer as well unfortunately.
Paqueta has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City before the start of the 2024/25 campaign. It was claimed just before the turn of the new year that the Brazilian has his heart set on playing for Man City next season.
However, Paqueta endeared himself to the Hammers fans whilst away on international duty with Brazil last week, when he refused to get drawn on speculation linking him with a move to Man City, instead insisting that he has too much respect for us as a club to discuss other teams.

The 26-year-old is still thought to be under investigation by the FA and FIFA regarding irregular betting patterns.
When that’s all cleared up though, there is no doubt in my mind that he’ll swap the London Stadium for the Etihad.
And if that does happen, we have to make one demand in particular from the Premier League and Champions League holders…
West Ham must demand big Manchester City talent as part of Lucas Paqueta deal
If we are to lose the former Lyon star this summer, I would like to think that the Hammers transfer team will do everything they can to make sure we get the best deal possible for him.
That will not only entail getting his full £85 million release clause, but also taking one of Man City’s talented youngsters for a season as well – Oscar Bobb to be exact.
Bobb has bagged two goals and two assists in 20 games (695 minutes) for Man City this season (Transfermarkt), including what could prove to be a crucial winner away at Newcastle United back in January.
The five-capped Norway international is a truly elite talent, and he can play on either wing or in the number 10 position – just like Paqueta.
Bobb is arguably one of the very best and most exciting young talents on the planet. Don’t just take my word for it though.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola absolutely raved about the 20-year-old a couple of months ago, and labelled him as ‘unbelievable’, as quoted by their official website:
“Txiki [director of football] at the end of last season said to me that in the Under 23s [last season] Bobb was the best player by far and I said: ‘OK [he’ll] go to Japan [on our summer tour] to start to train with us’. And immediately Oscar got something that is the most important thing. That is to rely on his mates. It’s more important than relying on the manager. When the mates can say: ‘OK – this player can play with us’, that is the best success. And it was immediately. He can play in five positions, striker, right wing, left, in the pockets… [he is] so dynamic and the work ethic is unbelievable.”
That’s quite the endorsement from Pep isn’t it!
