SIMON JORDAN TELLS TOTTENHAM TO SIGN ‘VERY GOOD PLAYER’ WHO WOULD WIN ARSENAL THE PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE

Simon Jordan has told Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur to sign the in-demand Brentford striker and Arsenal transfer target Ivan Toney.

The 27-year-old is currently serving a ban and he will return to action on January 16, where there are suggestions that he could be sold and Simon Jordan thinks Tottenham should have their fingertips all over this possible signing, as he told talkSPORT.

Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony sold Ivan Toney to Brentford and it seems as though his club will get a sell-on clause if and when he is sold for the big bucks.

It was suggested by Darragh MacAnthony that if Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were to sign the England striker during the January transfer window, then it would ‘guarantee Arsenal the Premier League title’.

And whilst he backed Ivan Toney to secure a move to north London for under £100 million, ex-Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan thinks he should be going to Tottenham instead because he would ‘do a job for anybody’.

It’s not yet known where Thomas Frank’s side will be in the Premier League table when Ivan Toney returns to the pitch, but if they are in trouble, then you would think they wouldn’t even consider letting him go.

But whatever happens, Simon Jordan put a ‘£70 million’ price tag on him and threw Tottenham’s name into the hat.

    Ivan Toney to Tottenham

“He’s a very good player,” said Jordan. “Again, I watched the observation of him coming from the Championship ‘Oh, he is unorthodox’.

“No, he is effective. He is an effective good centre-forward who actually understands football. He has got a football brain. He has got the ability. So, when he went into the Premier League. I wasn’t surprised at what he did.

“I don’t think he guarantees everyone a title. But what he does is that he gives everybody a chance – I think he is a very good signing for any of the top six clubs. If I was Tottenham Hotspur, I would see if I could sign Ivan Toney and push that envelope.

“I think he would do a job for anybody. I don’t think he is an £80-90 million centre-forward. But I think somebody would pay £70 million for him.”

    Toney – Harry Kane’s replacement?

Spurs haven’t replaced their club-record goalscorer and given how they have performed, despite that, is quite incredible.

They have been sitting top of the Premier League for a number of weeks now and if they beat Chelsea on Monday night, then they will return to the top of the table.

If they are still in and around those top spots come January, should Daniel Levy push the boat out and bring in Toney?

It would be a statement of intent if he did that and a very good addition to a team that is well and truly flying under the very popular, Ange Postecoglou.
