‘Shell-shocked’ – Sky Sports pundit destroys West Ham star as footage emerges v Aston Villa

Paul Robinson has slammed West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta for going to the ground too easily against Aston Villa on Friday.

The Brazilian was marking Ezri Konsa for the corner and while there was some contact made, both players were holding each other and with no VAR to intervene, the on-field decision stood.

Amadou Onana scored from the resulting corner and the game ended 2-1 in favour of Villa at Villa Park in the FA Cup on 10 January.

Speaking on the FA Cup world feed, Robinson, a Sky Sports pundit said on 10 January at 9:40: “That was a really poor dive by Paqueta. West Ham look shellshocked.”

Lucas Paqueta cannot be doing such things for West Ham

This is one of those decisions that could’ve gone either way and Paqueta knows that without VAR, it was more likely to go against him.

Had he not fallen to the floor, he would’ve been there to defend the corner and perhaps the goal would not have gone.

Ezri Konsa was there to be marked, but the Brazilian could not go down that easily, especially when he was also holding on to his shirt.

While he starts his Hammers career off with a defeat, there were plenty of positives and his side dominated the game for large portions.

It did not look like the side coached by Julen Lopetegui and that shows some quick work on the training pitch.
