Kalvin Phillips’ West Ham United career may have come to an early end due to an injury, likely marking his final appearance for the Hammers. This development was reported by The Athletic, which has increasingly shown strong connections at the club.
The 28-year-old England international, who joined on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season, is expected to sign for his former club Leeds United for a significantly reduced fee after a disappointing loan stint at the London Stadium.
Phillips has made 10 appearances for David Moyes’ side, including eight in the Premier League, but is now set to return to City for treatment on an unspecified injury.

Discussions are ongoing between the medical departments of both clubs regarding where Phillips will undergo his rehabilitation.
With only three games left in West Ham’s season, and Phillips being ineligible to face his parent club Manchester City on May 19, his participation for the remainder of the season is in doubt.
Phillips moved to the London Stadium during the winter transfer window in search of more regular first-team action but only managed to start three games across all competitions.
Additionally, Phillips was involved in a contentious incident with a supporter after a defeat to Newcastle United in March, where he was caught on video responding with a middle finger to a fan who called him “useless” as he was boarding the team bus.
Phillips loan move has been a massive failure and it’s hard not to conclude that his transfer is one of the contributing factors to Moyes leaving the club.
