Sack Lopetegui now, appoint Prem boss with £9m release clause and West Ham would be flying

Sack Julen Lopetegui now, appoint Premier League boss with £9m release clause and West Ham would be flying. Julen Lopetegui should get the sack now, if the West Ham United owners want to avoid a relegation battle this season.

West Ham disgraced themselves at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League today, and Julen Lopetegui deserves all the criticism he gets.

Don’t get me wrong, Edson Alvarez let everyone down with his ridiculous sending off, but that will just be an excuse for Lopetegui to use at the end of the day. The Hammers were shocking from the very first minute right up until the final whistle against Forest.

The way that Lopetegui has handled things since his arrival has been quite frankly appalling in my opinion. And the West Ham owners surely would not have been happy one little bit with the manner of the defeat to Forest.

Sure, he made some great summer signings, but he was too slow to integrate some of them into the team, namely Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville.

By playing the same old tired team that had failed last season, Lopetegui killed the excitement surrounding the club at the time. We were instantly behind the eight ball as a result, and now the Spaniard has dug himself a hole that he won’t be able to climb out of in my eyes.

There is only one solution for David Sullivan now as far as I’m concerned.

Sack Julen Lopetegui now and West Ham would be flying

Sullivan should make a big call and get rid of the 58-year-old now. I’m all for giving new managers time, but it couldn’t be any clearer to see that he’s not the man for the job.

    Pathetic. https://t.co/zora6Rlsh9

West Ham lack any kind of clear footballing identity, and Lopetegui seems to be absolutely clueless regarding the best way to turn things around.

The Hammers should appoint Thomas Frank now, just pay his £9 million release clause and show some real ambition.

I have been pushing for Frank to be our manager for well over a year now. The 51-year-old has proven time and time again with Brentford that he is an incredible manager.

He has his team playing some really exciting football, and seems to improve every single signing the Bees make – Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard just to name a few.

Can you just imagine what Frank would be able to do with the squad of players we have at the London Stadium right now?

Thomas Frank on another planet to Julen Lopetegui

The Dane is tactically astute and is clearly an incredibly good man-manager.

If West Ham appointed Frank, it would be the best £9 million the Hammers have spent in a long, long time.

So for once, David Sullivan, please make a proper, professional appointment. Pay a release clause, and bring someone in who would actually take us to another level. He had no problem parting with £50 million for Niclas Fullkrug and unproven Brazilian teenager Luis Guilherme.

I don’t buy all that ‘be careful what you wish for rubbish’. We wanted Moyes out but we didn’t want the Spanish version of him to come in and take over. Julen Lopetegui is done at West Ham in my opinion, and Thomas Frank is the man we need to take us forward.

Come on Sully, pull the trigger!
