Run-Away Premier League Threaten to Leave Hammers Behind

Run-Away Premier League Threaten to Leave Hammers Behind. West Ham remain 14th in the Premier League but only just after another weekend of incredible results.

Leicester City continued their resurgence under new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy with an impressive 2-2 draw against high-flyers Brighton & Hove Albion. This follows the Foxes’ 3-1 humiliation of the Hammers and has taken the Midlander’s to within one point of West Ham.

Everton were unable to leapfrog West Ham due to the Merseyside derby being cancelled because of ‘Storm Darragh’.

There is now a clear three-quarter breakaway between West Ham and the rest of the Premier League, which has added extra importance to tomorrow night’s fixture against Wolves, if any were needed.

The match at the London Stadium marks Julen Lopetegui’s third ‘El Sackico’ of the season. Victory would likely secure his position until the next ‘El Sackico’ against Southampton on Boxing Day.

From a West Ham perspective, anything less than a win against Wolves could see the season cast as a write-off, with tough games against Bournemouth, Brighton, and Liverpool looming on the horizon.
