Report: West Ham signing ‘best in the world’ £15m star now imminent as club force through deal

Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham now a matter of time as Manchester United try to force through deal. Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be West Ham United bound this summer.

And it may be sooner rather than later when he swaps Old Trafford for the London Stadium.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been heavily linked with a move to West Ham for quite some time now, and he allegedly wants to move back to London. He has experienced a tough time since joining Manchester United from Crystal Palace for £50 million way back in 2019.

A lot of players move to Old Trafford for huge fees and fail to live up to expectations, and AWB certainly fits into that category.

That’s not to say that he isn’t a top-class player because he most definitely is – the pressure to succeed is just different at Manchester United to almost every other club aside from Real Madrid.

Wan-Bissaka would thrive under Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium, I have no doubts about that. Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham now just a matter of time. It seems as though the 26-year-old right-back’s move back to London could be imminent.

According to Manchester Evening News, Man United expect the Wan-Bissaka to West Ham deal to go through soon, so that they can then complete a move to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

Let’s hope that the 26-year-old does end up moving to the London Stadium before the new season starts.

Lopetegui desperately needs to bring in an upgrade on Vladimir Coufal, and Wan-Bissaka would be exactly that.

The Man United star could cost around £15 million (Sky Sports), and that sounds like decent value to me.

Meanwhile, Give Me Sport claim that he could be available for just £10 million this summer – an absolute steal.

He would be a sensational signing for the Hammers, what with his blistering pace, tenacious tackling and incredible energy and stamina levels. The Man United man isn’t the greatest going forward but he’s one of the very best defenders around and let’s face it, that’s exactly what we need right now.

Back in 2020, Jamie Carragher described the former Crystal Palace man as the ‘best one-on-one defender in the world’ (Daily Mail).

I’ll be absolutely delighted if West Ham meet Manchester United in the middle and end up paying somewhere around £12-13 million for Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer.

He would undoubtedly forge a great relationship with Jarrod Bowen down the right hand flank, and would take us to a whole new level entirely.
