West Ham United are in the market for yet another exciting attacker this summer it seems.
Julen Lopetegui has been a man on a mission this summer, and has already signed eight new players for West Ham.
And whilst his main priority may well now be to shift on some of the fringe players, his business is far from finished.
The West Ham manager admitted that himself recently when he insisted that he wants two top quality options in every single position.
Are the Hammers owners prepared to back the Spaniard even more than they already have this summer though?
It certainly seems that way, with a move for another attacker apparently being lined up by the East London outfit.
West Ham now want to sign Jack Clark
Well, the Hammers are clearly not yet done in the summer transfer window it seems.
A move is apparently being lined up to sign a really talented young English left winger.
According to a report from The Sun (print edition, August 20th, page 48), West Ham are interested in signing Sunderland winger Jack Clarke.
The 23-year-old attacker is currently in negotiations with the Black Cats regarding signing a potential new contract.
The Hammers were heavily linked with a move to sign Jack Clarke back in the January transfer window, but he remained at the Stadium of Light in the end.
Now it seems like Lopetegui is determined to succeed where David Moyes failed before him by bringing the Englishman to the London Stadium.
Jack Clarke not really needed at West Ham
I think he’d be a very good signing for us, although I’m not sure we need him right now if I’m honest.
He has bagged 16 goals and five assists for Sunderland since the start of last season a fine return indeed.
The Black Cats ace possesses exceptional technical ability and is really direct when he has the ball at his feet.
However, considering the fact that we’ve already signed Crysencio Summerville this summer, I think Julen Lopetegui should be focusing on strengthening other positions at West Ham between now and the end of the transfer window.
The need for another central midfielder, a striker and even a left-back is far greater than the one for a left winger.
Hopefully the Hammers head coach realises that.
