West Ham loan deal for striker with £18.5m obligation to buy is ‘practically done’. West Ham United are apparently closing in on a deal to sign a proven striker, in spite of what we’ve been told previously.
Julen Lopetegui has overseen a fabulous transfer window so far at West Ham, but the Spaniard is far from finished, and has admitted himself that he wants more. It has already been well-documented that the Hammers head coach needs to move on some of the fringe players first, in order to make more signings.
If he’s successful in doing that over the next 38 hours or so, he could bring a couple of top-class players into the London Stadium to take us to another level entirely. Carlos Soler seems the most likely signing right now, but it could be argued that the addition of another centre-forward is required as well.

So amazingly, it seems like the Hammers are really close to bringing the centre-forward back to London before the transfer window slams shut.
According to a report from Corriere della Sera Roma (print edition August 28th, page 7), the Tammy Abraham to West Ham transfer is practically done already. That really is quite the claim, given the fact that numerous top sources inside the London Stadium have continually been suggesting that there is no truth to the Tammy Abraham links.
The 26-year-old will almost certainly leave Roma this summer, and with Lopetegui still keen to bolster his centre-forward ranks, he would be a very good addition.
The question is, have the Italians jumped the gun with their claim? Or more importantly, are the Hammers even interested in the 6ft 5in striker in the first place? Only time will tell as to which outlets have their information on West Ham’s interest in the former Chelsea man correct.
West Ham need Tammy Abraham
Niclas Fullkrug clearly needs more time to get up to speed with Premier League football. Meanwhile, Michail Antonio isn’t the player he once was, and Danny Ings is being heavily linked with an exit before the transfer window closes.
So West Ham signing Abraham would be a smart move as far as I’m concerned. His record is incredibly impressive, with 130 goals in in 339 career appearances for club and country to his name.
Standing at 6ft 5in tall, Abraham is a real handful in the air, and would undoubtedly be a big problem for opposing Premier League defenders – he proved that during his time with Chelsea. The fact that we know he’s perfectly suited to Premier League football is a big plus.
He has endured injury problems recently, but there aren’t any transfers that come without risk. West Ham should sign Tammy Abraham in my opinion, but we won’t know for sure whether that will be happening until 11pm tomorrow night.
