Steven Bergwijn has been chased by West Ham United for quite some time now, so could he still make a late move to the London Stadium before deadline day?
West Ham were first linked with a move to sign Steven Bergwijn from Ajax back in November, and he admitted that he’d be open to a move back to England.
Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to add a proven attacker to his ranks before the January transfer window slams shut on deadline day at 11pm tonight.
The likes of Said Benrahma, Pablo Fornals and Maxwel Cornet realistically could all leave the club today and even if one or two of them head off, Moyes has to get someone in.
Bergwijn should be one of Moyes’s top targets today in my opinion, and there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t be going all out to sign him…

According to a report from Dutch media outlet Voetbal Primeur, a late Hammers move to sign the former Tottenham star late on deadline day cannot be ruled out.
It is suggested that West Ham could be pushed into a move for the Netherlands international if Fornals or Benrahma leave the club today.
I would absolutely love Bergwijn at the London Stadium – he’s exactly what we need right now.
Voetbal International recently claimed that Ajax want to recoup most of the £27 million that they paid to sign him from Tottenham in 2022.
I think that would actually represent very good value for Bergwijn. During his time with Tottenham, the 26-year-old bagged just eight goals and 10 assists in 83 games, but he’s faired far better with Ajax, with 24 goals and 11 assists to his name in just 67 outings (Transfermarkt).
West Ham target Steven Bergwijn possesses blistering pace, impressive technical ability and can play anywhere along the front-line.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Moyes manages to bring the versatile forward to the London Stadium before 11pm tonight. However, I don’t expect it to happen if I’m being brutally honest.
