According to the print edition of La Vanguardia (12/07/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Barcelona could offer Clement Lenglet to Tottenham as part of a deal to sign Giovani Lo Celso
At the start of this week, we relayed an update from Sport, which claimed that conversations between Spurs and Barcelona about the Frenchman were continuing, with both clubs being aware that they need to relax some of their demands for a deal to go through.
The publication added that the two clubs are working on a ‘definitive solution’, with the Tottenham hierarchy not willing to pay over €10m (£8.5m) for the centre-back while the Catalan side were looking for €15m (£12.8m).
Potential part-exchange offer for Lenglet and Lo Celso
According to La Vanguardia’s latest update, Barcelona could now try a different formula to complete the deal by proposing that Lo Celso be included as part of the operation.
The report states that Xavi Hernandez is keen on bolstering his options in the middle of the park and has identified the Argentine as a target.
It is explained that since Tottenham are not counting on Lo Celso, Barca are convinced that they can ‘easily reach an agreement’ for the midfielder’s transfer.
The La Liga champions are also said to be ‘studying’ the possibility of offering the centre-back in a part-exchange deal for the former Real Betis and Villarreal star.
