West Ham could be dealt a major blow by Chelsea in the summer transfer window, as Enzo Maresca eyes up a move for one of Julen Lopetegui’s top targets.
Julen Lopetegui still has plenty of work to do at West Ham in the summer transfer window, and the same can be said for Chelsea boss Maresca.
However, I couldn’t care less about them over there in west London. That said, they may well impact Lopetegui’s business this summer.
The Hammers head coach is eyeing up six new signings, so we can expect a minimum of three more new arrivals at the London Stadium before the start of the new season.
He should have three main priorities in my mind – a new striker, left winger and a central midfielder. It could actually be argued that he needs two full-backs and another centre-back as well.

For now though, the additions of a striker, left winger and central midfielder should be occupying his mind.
Unfortunately for Lopetegui though, Chelsea could ruin his plan to strengthen one of those positions in particular…
Chelsea blow West Ham out the water for summer transfer window deal. So, Lopetegui faces a fierce battle now, if he is to sign one of his top attacking targets this summer.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Chelsea have now thrown their hat in the ring to sign West Ham target Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.
Summerville, 22, is a player who the Hammers have been strongly linked with signing over the past few months.

Leeds could ask for around £30 million for the young Dutch winger (TEAMtalk), and that sounds like exceptional value to me.
The fact that he’s a right footed left winger makes him absolutely perfectly for West Ham this summer.
He would complete our front-line, so it’s easy to see why losing out to Chelsea in the race to sign the 22-year-old would be such a blow for us. Summerville bagged an impressive 21 goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances for Leeds United last season.
He is an exceptionally talented young player, has pace to burn and backs up his electric speed with real output inside the final third.
Described by TEAMtalk as ‘electric’, Crysencio Summerville is undoubtedly ready to make the jump up to Premier League stardom.
Unfortunately for West Ham though, it seems like Chelsea may be in pole position to sign the Leeds star in the summer transfer window.
