West Ham United: Brentford now want to sign Said Benrahma in ‘shock’ last-gasp January deal
Brentford are eyeing a return for Said Benrahma as they look to strike a deal with West Ham in the January transfer window, according to Alan Nixon.
The Sun journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (28 January) that the Bees are looking into a “shock” transfer for the Algerian international as they would like him to return to West London in a “bargain move” before the end of this month.
He added that the 28-year-old winger can leave the London Stadium for the right price after he recently changed agents to find him a transfer, with Saudi clubs also plotting a potential move to sign him.

There doesn’t seem to be much doubt about the fact that West Ham would be more than happy to let Benrahma leave in January after his performances have gone downhill.
The winger simply doesn’t seem to care enough about being at the London Stadium anymore, with his latest outing seeing him receive a silly red card for kicking out at a Bristol City player.
With the Hammers looking for further attacking reinforcements in the final few days of the window, his departure would free up some cash to get someone else through the door.
But the issue is that the Irons want £20million in order to sanction a permanent transfer for the Algerian, so those interested parties will have to stump up a reasonable figure to sign him.
Whether or not that’s likely is anyone’s guess, but we shouldn’t just let him go on the cheap as those interested clubs know he could still have plenty to offer in the right environment.
