That means the Hammers have now brought in an attacker, a back-up goalkeeper and a centre-back as part of the club’s big overhaul. Another five signings are being targeted by West Ham technical director Tim Steidten for new head coach Julen Lopetegui.

Because the full focus has now shifted to signing a new striker. West Ham have been linked with a host of forwards since Lopetegui’s arrival. The Hammers will have to hurry if they want to sign top Lopetegui target Youssef En-Nesyri. He is said to be nearing a move to Fenerbahce.
Word is Steidten has pulled the plug on any move for Lille’s Jonathan David after it got too expensive. That is the same situation when it comes to Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion. Talk of interest in Armando Broja has died a death since David Moyes’ departure.
But one name consistently linked with the club is Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

Toney has been a longstanding target for West Ham. Indeed the Hammers famously passed up the chance of signing Toney from Peterborough for just £10m.

Top transfer insider Graeme Bailey exclusively told Hammers News that West Ham remain interested in Toney this summer.
And Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg claimed Toney could be up front for the Hammers next season with Brentford looking for between £30-40m.
One look at West Ham social media suggests the move would have the backing of the club’s fans. Toney is recognised as one of the best penalty takers in world football.
And his unique technique of looking at the goalkeeper instead of the ball was on display as he scored to help England beat Switzerland on penalties and make the Euro semi-finals last night.
There was no game time for West Ham star Bowen yet again.
But it was spotted that Bowen was celebrating and chatting with Toney and former Hammers teammate Declan Rice.
