Matheus Franca has now spoken about what life at Crystal Palace is like under Oliver Glasner.
The 19-year-old made the comments when speaking to ESPN Brasil.

Well, the Brazilian revealed that he is enjoying life under the Austrian – having previously endured a miserable time under Roy Hodgson.
Franca said: “Ah, very good impression. A very good coach. He’s changed a lot and everyone is adapting to him, to his style of play, and it’s been very good for us.”

The Brazil U20 international was only given scraps of playing time under Hodgson, making eight Premier League appearances which amounted to just 176 minutes of action.
Franca was only given more than 20 minutes of action from the bench on one occasion under the 76-year-old, after coming on earlier than expected during the 4-1 defeat to Brighton due to Michael Olise’s injury.

In stark contrast to the above, Glasner has already handed the teenager two Premier League appearances which lasted more than 20 minutes each, bringing him on as the first substitute against both Burnley and Tottenham.
Clearly, the 49-year-old values the teenager more highly than Hodgson ever did, which speaks volumes after just a handful of training sessions working with the South American.

Franca appeared to have no chance of success under Hodgson, who even singled him out for criticism following a 2-1 defeat to Tottenham back in October.
Now – however – it seems like the talented forward from Rio de Janeiro has a proper chance to shine under Glasner, who has a greater appreciation for attacking football than his predecessor did.
Hopefully, Franca can enjoy a strong end to the 2023/24 campaign, before really making a name for himself next season.
