Sunderland could be about to sign yet another talented West Ham academy graduate.
Over the past few years, Sunderland have developed a habit of picking up players from West Ham’s youth set up. Both Pierre Ekwah and Aji Alese made their move to the North East following their time in claret and blue.
However, they could be about to sign one of the most highly rated academy prospects in the Summer – Divin Mubama. The young striker has impressive stats at both U18 and U21 levels but has not really had too many chances in the first team despite making the bench a number of times
Unfortunately, the club and player have been unable to reach an agreement on a contract extension and he is set to leave the club at the end of the season. According to Claret and Hugh, it is the Black Cats who will take him on.
Thankfully, the Hammers will get some sort of money for him due to his age and the fact he came through their academy but it will be decided at tribunal.
It is a shame that he never got the opportunity he deserved at the London Stadium, but there is no doubt he will go on to have a successful career wherever he plays his football.
