Moyes wants ‘hot-shot’ striker who can’t stop scoring at West Ham as exit news emerges – report

David Moyes wants Santiago Gimenez at West Ham United as Danny Ings exit news emerges

West Ham want to sign Feyenoord hot-shot Santiago Gimenez after tracking him for some time, as Danny Ings could depart in January, according to The Mirror.

The newspaper shared via their website on 19 November that Ings could be allowed to leave the club when the transfer window opens if a suitable offer arrives and a replacement can be sorted.

Gimenez has scored 15 goals in 15 appearances for the Dutch champions so far this season, although Feyenoord plan to keep him until the end of the season and are expected to turn down any January offers.

    An astronomical upgrade

If West Ham can sell Ings for any decent fee, while bringing Gimenez in to fill his spot in the squad, it would be one of the biggest upgrades to a position they could possibly dream of.

Ings has failed to score so far this season in 12 appearances across all competitions, with many of those appearances coming from the bench as he struggles to make enough of an impact to earn a first-team spot despite the up-and-down form of Michail Antonio.

Gimenez, meanwhile, has been flying in the Netherlands. The 15 goals in 15 games have seen him bag a brace on his Champions League debut, and his 13 league goals have come alongside three assists in just 12 Eredivisie appearances so far.

This form has attracted interest from some of the most reputable clubs in Europe, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Athletico Madrid linked with a move, although West Ham could offer him guaranteed first-team football if they can convince him to move to East London.
