Mark Noble seals new West Ham signing as medical underway. West Ham legend Mark Noble has proven to be instrumental in completing a new signing at Rush Green.
The former Hammers captain took over as sporting director in January 2023 after ending his 472 appearance career in East London. The 37-year-old has since worked with Tim Steidten in completing transfer business but with the German now gone, some of that responsibility has fallen on the Englishman.
It now appears that the ex-midfielder has had a telling impact for the Irons after a medical was booked ahead of a London Stadium switch.
Daniel Cummings to undergo West Ham medical
There aren’t many better people than the old skipper to sell why a move to E20 could prove to be positive for a young players future career prospects. It now appears that this charm has paid off with the sporting director seemingly having a telling role in recent negotiations. The Hammers have reached an agreement to sign Daniel Cummings from Celtic on a pre-contract deal, according to ExWHUEmployee (16 February).
The Scottish forward is now set to have his medical on Monday (17 February), parts of which have already gotten underway, with the Irons due to pay a compensation fee for the 18-year-old.
Noble has been very influential in completing the signing of the Hoops forward who is seen as a coup at the London Stadium given his sizable potential.
This move will only be a boost to the sporting director’s reputation as the young Scot was seen as a main target for the Irons in recent months.

With Noble seemingly one of the key names behind securing this deal, there is every chance that Potter could put even more trust in the former captain to improve his side.
