A yellow weather warning has been issued to the North West on Saturday (4 January), with heavy snowfall and icy conditions expected when the Hammers face off against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
According to the Met Office’s latest update on Thursday (2 January), Manchester will be one of the cities affected by adverse weather conditions expected to hit the UK over the weekend.
However, the game is expected to proceed without interruption, with the worst of the conditions scheduled to hit the North West in the evening, well after the 3pm kick-off.
West Ham United must bounce back against Manchester City
With the match at the Etihad expected to go ahead, the West Ham faithful may have wished for a similar outcome to the recently postponed Merseyside Derby.
The Hammers ended a four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League in humiliating fashion last time out, as league leaders Liverpool ran riot in a 5-0 loss on Sunday (29 December).

Bournemouth, Brighton and Aston Villa boast victories over Manchester City during this period, albeit on home soil – Guardiola’s men are vulnerable, and Lopetegui must take full advantage.
While the loss of Jarrod Bowen will hit the Irons hard, his absence provides the perfect opportunity for others to step up – anything less than a resounding performance at the Etihad will not be good enough.
