Levy ready to throw in the towel on this transfer, the player won’t return to totteham.

Tottenham will not be signing Clement Lenglet permanently, report claims. Tottenham could walk away from a deal to sign Clement Lenglet on a a permanent basis.

According to a report from Spanish publication Sport (August 13th, page 11), Tottenham are ready to ‘throw in the towel’ in the race to sign Lenglet permanently due to Barcelona’s £13 million demands.

The 28-year-old centre-back spent last season on loan with Spurs from Barcelona, and made 35 appearances across all competitions for the North London outfit.

Lenglet was decent for Tottenham but he didn’t really set the world alight. In fact, the pace of Premier League football proved to be too much for him at times. However, he was very good with the ball at his feet, so maybe he’s suited to a slower paced league.

And because of that, Spurs are obviously not prepared to pay over the odds for the Frenchman in the summer transfer window…

Tottenham will not be signing Clement Lenglet permanently

The 28-year-old centre-back could now head out to Saudi Arabia, rather than back to Spurs according to a report from Spanish media outlet Sport.

That’s because Tottenham are refusing to pay the £13 million that Barcelona are demanding for the former Sevilla and Nancy man.

Ange Postecoglou definitely needs to strengthen his central defensive ranks, in spite of the recent addition of Micky van de Ven.

Cristian Romero suffered an injury yesterday, and the Tottenham boss quite simply needs to get more quality through the door before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

Quite how much Daniel Levy is prepared to back the Spurs manager remains to be seen though…

Tottenham want to sign rapid striker Gift Orban

The Athletic reckon that Gent forward Orban is a target for Spurs this summer. He is a completely different player to Kane, so Ange signing him would be evidence that he plans to change the playing style from his predecessors.

Gift Orban would certainly provide Tottenham with a completely different threat through the middle. He possesses absolutely blistering pace and has a knack of finding space by running in behind the opposition’s defence.

The 21-year-old scored the fastest ever hat-trick in UEFA club competition history, when he bagged three goals for Gent in just 205 seconds against Basaksehir in the Europa Conference League last season.

The Nigerian Sun reckon he’s available for around £17 million this summer. That fee would represent very good value as far as I’m concerned.
