Lopetegui change on the cards at West Ham United as ‘really exciting’ deal done. Dan Bardell believes West Ham fans are right to be excited about signing Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United.
The Hammers confirmed the signing of the Championship Player of the Year after activating a release clause which has been kept private [Sean Whetstone]. The Dutchman will add to the attacking riches that Julen Lopetegui already has available with the likes of Luis Guilherme and Niclas Fullkrug also coming in.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has compared the 22-year-old to Bowen while speaking about the supporters’ excitement. Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Bardell said: “West Ham fans will certainly be really excited by him.
“They’ve done well signing players from the Championship before with Jarrod Bowen. Summerville was the best player in the division last season in a team that ultimately should have gone up.
“I think there will be a change in system under Lopetegui so it will be interesting to see how they line up in the first game.
“They’ve got lots of attacking options now so it is going to be exciting. Even if Summerville isn’t guaranteed a start he is a great weapon to bring off the bench later in games.“

The recent transfer activity at the London Stadium has certainly gotten fans off their seats with anticipation for the new campaign. Summerville is one of the latest additions but appears to be one for the future compared to the likes of Guido Rodriguez and Fulkrug.
The versatile attacker will provide an element of flair to the Hammers’ front line, adding to the great options already available.
Crysencio Summerville is close to joining West Ham. After a season in the second tier dovetailing with Georginio Rutter, the prospect of combining with Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta is certainly exciting.
