The Milwaukee Bucks were in desperate need of a win on Thursday night when they hosted the mighty Boston Celtics. This is after the Bucks lost their fourth out of five January games on Monday via a 132-116 blowout at the hands of the Utah Jazz.
The Celtics, on the other hand, were playing in the second night of a back-to-back set after a grueling overtime win over Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Well, it was extremely clear who the better team was in the opening half of Thursday’s marque Eastern Conference showdown.
To say that the Bucks came out firing off the bat would be a massive understatement. This team played with an obvious sense of urgency as they looked to make a statement against their East rivals.
This resulted in Milwaukee mounting an 18-point lead in the first 12 minutes of action. They did not let up in the second quarter either as they continued to bombard a hapless Celtics side. Ultimately, the Bucks entered halftime with a massive 37-point lead.
The 75-38 at the half was a clear indication of how badly the Bucks wanted to get the W tonight.
As you may have expected, the mean streets of Twitter went down hard on the Celtics and their atrocious first-half performance. Jayson Tatum, who logged just seven points on 2-of-6 shooting in the opening half, was also not spared by the savages on social media.
